Vivo has confirmed a normal development schedule, while new leaks suggest major camera upgrades and a Snapdragon processor.
The Vivo X500 Ultra is reportedly on track for a March or April 2027 launch. Tipster Digital Chat Station says the phone is moving through its normal development process.
Vivo Vice President Huang Tao previously indicated a similar launch window. He said the device would offer major camera improvements over the X500 Pro Max.
The upcoming flagship will target professional content creators, with a strong focus on photography.
Vivo X500 Ultra Expected Specifications
According to recent leaks, Vivo is testing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. This would mark a change from the MediaTek processor used in the Pro Max.
The phone could feature a 6.85-inch BOE display with 2K+ resolution. Reports also suggest a 144Hz refresh rate and LTPO technology for improved power efficiency.
The display may have a flat design, slim bezels, and rounded corners. A 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is also expected.
Camera Upgrades and Battery Details
Camera hardware could be a major highlight of the Vivo X500 Ultra. Leaks suggest a triple rear camera setup with 50MP, 50MP, and 200MP sensors.
The device may also feature a 50MP front camera for selfies. However, the exact purpose of each rear sensor remains unclear.

Earlier reports mentioned different 200MP telephoto camera options. As a result, the final camera setup remains uncertain.
For comparison, the Vivo X500 Pro Max features a Dimensity 9600 Pro processor. It also comes with an 8,000mAh battery and supports 90W charging.
Vivo X500 Ultra Launch in India
Vivo has not announced an official India launch date for the X500 Ultra. The reported March or April 2027 window does not confirm Indian availability.
The company has also not confirmed the leaked chipset, display, or camera specifications.
More official details are expected as the phone moves closer to its planned launch window.
