The 1.1-liter desktop combines a 20-core Grace CPU, Blackwell RTX GPU and up to 128GB of unified memory for local AI tasks.

Asus has announced the ProArt GR1X, a compact desktop computer built around Nvidia’s new RTX Spark architecture. The 1.1-liter mini PC is designed for local AI processing, creative work and large AI models on Windows.

The company introduced the GR1X alongside its latest ProArt laptops. Asus is targeting users who need strong computing performance in a small desktop system.

Asus ProArt GR1X specifications

The ProArt GR1X uses Nvidia’s new RTX Spark Superchip. The chip combines a 20-core Grace CPU with a Blackwell RTX GPU that has 6,144 CUDA cores.

The CPU and GPU are connected through Nvidia’s NVLink-C2C technology. This allows both processors to access a shared pool of LPDDR5X memory.

Asus will offer the mini PC with 64GB or 128GB of unified memory. The shared memory design is important for local AI workloads because large models can require substantial amounts of memory.

According to Asus, the 128GB version can run large language models with up to 120 billion parameters entirely on the device. This means the system can process these models locally without depending on cloud servers.

Compact design with 140W cooling system

Despite its hardware, the ProArt GR1X has a small desktop footprint. The chassis measures 150 x 150 x 51 mm and weighs 1.48 kg.

The internal components have a 140W TDP. TDP refers to the amount of heat that a computer’s cooling system needs to handle under sustained workloads.

Asus uses a dual-fan cooling system and a vented chassis to manage the heat. The company says the cooling system is designed for continuous 24/7 operation.

This design is aimed at workloads such as background AI processing and long rendering sessions. The compact size also makes the system suitable for users who want desktop-class computing in a smaller space.

Built for local AI applications

Local AI processing is one of the main features of the ProArt GR1X. The system supports Nvidia’s standard CUDA ecosystem for compatible AI and computing applications.

Asus has also integrated the mini PC with Hermes AI, an open-source AI agent from Nous Research. The system also provides native support for ComfyUI.

ComfyUI is a tool used for creating and managing AI-based image generation workflows. Its support gives creative users another option for running compatible AI tasks locally.

Running AI workloads on the computer can reduce the need to send those workloads to cloud servers. It also gives users a system designed specifically for local processing.

Connectivity and display support

The ProArt GR1X includes several high-speed connectivity options. Its rear I/O panel has a 10G RJ45 Ethernet port and one HDMI 2.1 port.

The mini PC also includes three USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C ports. These ports support DisplayPort Alt Mode for compatible displays.

According to Asus, the system can support up to four 4K displays at the same time. This makes the GR1X suitable for users who work across several screens.

Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The system also has two M.2 slots for storage, with support for PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 drives.

Asus ProArt GR1X availability

Asus says the ProArt GR1X will be available later this year. The mini PC will come in black and silver finishes.

The company has not announced pricing yet. Asus has confirmed that both 64GB and 128GB configurations will be sold through select retailers.

For Indian buyers, the final price and local availability will depend on Asus’s retail plans. The company has not provided those details in the information available for this report.

What the ProArt GR1X offers

The ProArt GR1X combines a very small chassis with hardware aimed at demanding AI and creative workloads. Its shared memory design is particularly focused on running large AI models locally.

The 128GB configuration is designed to handle language models with up to 120 billion parameters, according to Asus. The system also offers high-speed networking, multiple display connections and modern wireless standards.

Asus is expected to provide more details about pricing and retail availability before the mini PC goes on sale later this year.
