The foldable phone is expected to get a much higher-resolution inner screen, while other Pixel 12 models may see smaller display changes.
Google’s upcoming Pixel 12 series may bring a major display upgrade to its foldable model, according to an early GSMA IMEI database listing reported by tech site OVRPlus. The listing reportedly includes four unannounced phones: Pixel 12, Pixel 12 Pro, Pixel 12 Pro XL and Pixel 12 Pro Fold.
The database entries also reveal display resolutions for the four models. The regular Pixel 12 models appear to receive only minor changes, while the Pixel 12 Pro Fold could get a much sharper inner display.
Pixel 12 series display resolutions revealed
According to the reported IMEI database information, the base Pixel 12 carries a resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels. This is slightly shorter than the Pixel 11’s listed 1080 × 2424 resolution.
The Pixel 12 Pro is reportedly listed with a 1280 × 2824-pixel display. Its predecessor has a 1280 × 2856 resolution, making the change relatively small.
The Pixel 12 Pro XL may use a 1344 × 2952-pixel display. That is slightly lower than the Pixel 11 Pro XL’s reported 1344 × 2992 resolution.
In all three cases, the horizontal resolution remains unchanged. This suggests a small change in the display aspect ratio rather than a major redesign.
However, the available information does not reveal the final screen sizes or pixel density. It is therefore too early to determine how noticeable these changes will be during everyday use.
Pixel 12 Pro Fold could get the biggest upgrade
The Pixel 12 Pro Fold appears to be the most interesting model in the early listing. Its inner display is reportedly listed at 2296 × 2404 pixels.
For comparison, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is listed with a 2076 × 2152-pixel inner display. The reported figures would represent a significant increase in the total number of pixels.

A higher resolution could make text and images appear sharper on the foldable’s large inner screen. The improvement could be especially useful when users run multiple apps in split-screen mode.
The display shape is also expected to remain close to the current design. The reported resolution keeps the screen near a square shape rather than moving to a much wider foldable format.
Google may be refining the current foldable design
The early information suggests Google may be focusing on improving the existing Pixel Pro Fold design instead of making a major change to its overall screen shape.
This could mean that the Pixel 12 Pro Fold will retain a near-square inner display. However, the available database information does not confirm the phone’s complete design.
Other important specifications are also missing from the reported listings. These include the outer display resolution, battery capacity and Tensor processor details.
Pixel 12 series expected in August 2027
Google is expected to announce the Pixel 12 series in August 2027, based on the information provided. The company has not yet confirmed the reported specifications.
The current figures come from early database entries and could change before the phones are officially launched. For now, the listings suggest that the Pixel 12 Pro Fold may receive the most significant display improvement in the upcoming series.
