RedMagic 12 Pro+ Sets New Snapdragon

The upcoming gaming phone scores 3,677 in single-core and 12,679 in multi-core tests on Geekbench 7, beating the previous results from Xiaomi and OnePlus.

The RedMagic 12 Pro+ has recorded the highest Geekbench 7 scores reported so far for a phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. The results appeared just days before RedMagic confirmed the phone’s October 15 launch in China.

According to the Geekbench 7 listing, the phone carries the model number Nubia NX819J. It scored 3,677 points in the single-core test and 12,679 points in the multi-core test. Both results are higher than Qualcomm’s own performance figures for the new processor.

Qualcomm has claimed around 3,600 points in single-core performance and between 12,300 and 12,500 points in multi-core performance. The RedMagic 12 Pro+ has exceeded both figures in the latest benchmark results.

RedMagic 12 Pro+ Beats Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and OnePlus 16

The latest results put the RedMagic 12 Pro+ ahead of two other upcoming flagship phones tested with the same processor. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max previously recorded 3,582 points in single-core and 12,247 points in multi-core tests on Geekbench 7.

The OnePlus 16 also appeared on Geekbench 7 around the same time. Its earlier results showed 3,492 points in single-core and 11,950 points in multi-core performance.

Compared with these results, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ has a lead of around 1% in single-core performance and approximately 2% to 3% in multi-core performance over the previous top results. However, the difference remains relatively small.

These figures come from a pre-launch device. Performance may change when the retail version becomes available. Actual results can also vary depending on software, temperature and testing conditions.

Gaming-Focused Cooling Could Help Improve Performance

RedMagic smartphones are designed mainly for gaming, making cooling an important part of their hardware. Previous models from the company have included active cooling systems to manage heat during demanding tasks.

RedMagic has already teased new cooling technology for the RedMagic 12 Pro+. However, the company has not yet revealed how the system works or provided complete technical details.

Effective cooling can help a processor maintain higher clock speeds for longer periods. This can improve performance during demanding games and benchmark tests.

The RedMagic 12 Pro+ may therefore be using its gaming-focused cooling technology to achieve its leading benchmark results. However, the available information does not confirm that cooling alone is responsible for the higher scores.

Several other smartphones are also expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. Their performance results will provide a clearer picture of how the chip performs across different devices.

RedMagic 12 Pro+ Launch Date and Expected Design Changes

RedMagic has confirmed that the RedMagic 12 Pro+ will launch in China on October 15 at 2:30 PM local time. The company has also shared some details about the phone’s design.

According to RedMagic, the new model will be lighter, thinner, narrower and more rounded than its predecessor. These changes are aimed at improving the phone’s overall design while retaining its gaming-focused features.

The company has also confirmed a reduction in display bezel thickness. The bezel will measure just 0.96mm, compared with 1.25mm on the previous model. The phone will continue to feature an under-display front camera, allowing the display to maintain a cleaner appearance without a visible camera cutout.

These design changes could give the RedMagic 12 Pro+ a more compact appearance while offering a large screen for gaming and other activities.

RedMagic 12 Pro+ Battery and Charging Details

Battery capacity and charging speed are among the other expected features of the RedMagic 12 Pro+. A leak from last month claimed that the phone could feature an 8,400mAh battery.

The same leak suggested support for 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. If these specifications are accurate, the phone could offer a large battery alongside fast charging options.

However, RedMagic has not officially confirmed the battery capacity or charging speeds. These details should be treated as unverified until the company makes an official announcement.

The October 15 launch event is expected to provide more information about the phone’s hardware, battery and other features.

What the RedMagic 12 Pro+ Benchmark Results Mean

The latest Geekbench 7 results suggest that the RedMagic 12 Pro+ is among the strongest-performing phones tested with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 so far. Its lead over the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and OnePlus 16 is modest, but it highlights the phone’s potential.

For Indian smartphone buyers, the results offer an early look at the performance expected from the next generation of flagship gaming phones. However, benchmark scores alone cannot determine real-world gaming performance, battery life or overall user experience.

RedMagic has confirmed the China launch for October 15. More details about the phone’s final specifications, features and availability should become clear at the official unveiling.
