OnePlus says the OnePlus 16 scored more than 5.63 million points on AnTuTu, beating an earlier leaked score of 5.38 million.
OnePlus has shared its own AnTuTu performance score for the upcoming OnePlus 16. The company says the phone scored more than 5.63 million points in testing. The result is higher than the 5.38 million points reported in an earlier leak.
OnePlus also claims that this is the highest AnTuTu score among smartphones using the same chipset. However, the company noted that the score was achieved under controlled testing conditions. Real-world performance can vary based on software, temperature and other factors.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 powers the phone
The OnePlus 16 will be among the first smartphones to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The chip is built using TSMC’s 2nm process and uses an all-big-core CPU design.
The processor has clock speeds above 5.0GHz. OnePlus says CPU performance has improved by 13% over the previous generation. GPU performance, meanwhile, is claimed to be 44% higher.
OnePlus has also worked with Qualcomm on a gaming kernel called Wind Chaser. It operates at a lower software layer and is designed to help supported games run at a native 185 frames per second (FPS).
PUBG Mobile is among the games mentioned by OnePlus. The company says the system can maintain the 185FPS frame rate during longer gaming sessions.
Three dedicated chips focus on gaming
The OnePlus 16 will also feature three chips developed by OnePlus for gaming. The P4 Super Display Chip is designed to handle image rendering.
The T3 Touch Chip manages touch response, while the G3 e-sports network chip focuses on network latency. Together, the three chips are designed to improve the gaming experience from touch input to the final image shown on the display.
OnePlus 16 display and battery details
The OnePlus 16 is expected to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display supplied by BOE. The panel is expected to have a flat design with large rounded corners.
The display is also expected to support a 185Hz refresh rate. It reportedly has 1.15mm bezels on all four sides, which would give the phone a slim-border design.
The smartphone is expected to pack a 9,000mAh battery. This matches the battery capacity reported in earlier leaks.
200MP camera could headline the rear setup
The OnePlus 16 is reportedly set to feature a 200MP main camera on the rear. The main sensor is said to measure 1/1.4-inch.
The rear camera system is also expected to include a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. A 50MP ultrawide camera is expected to complete the setup.
Further details about the main camera sensor and new shooting modes have already been indicated in earlier camera information.
Price and charging details are still unknown
OnePlus has not yet revealed the price of the OnePlus 16. The company has also not disclosed its charging specifications.
Both details are expected to be announced at the company’s October 12 event. More information about the phone is likely to be shared as the launch event approaches.
