Honor’s Magic 9 series has appeared in a detailed leak ahead of its official launch. Digital Chat Station has shared the key specifications of all three models. The lineup is set to launch tomorrow and includes the Magic 9, Magic 9 Pro Max and Magic 9 Super Edition.
The leaked details cover the displays, chipsets, batteries, charging systems and cameras. They also reveal differences in the design and security features of the three phones.
Honor Magic 9 specifications
The standard Magic 9 will be the smallest phone in the lineup. It is said to feature a 6.37-inch flat LTPS display with 1.5K+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone will reportedly use the Snapdragon 8E5 chipset. It will have an 8,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Honor has already confirmed its 55MP square selfie camera. The 1:1 camera is described as Android’s first square selfie camera.
At the rear, the Magic 9 is expected to feature a 200MP main camera. The main sensor reportedly measures 1/1.4 inches. It will be joined by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
The telephoto camera will offer 3.5x optical zoom and use a 1/1.56-inch sensor. The specifications match details seen in high-resolution camera samples shared by Honor earlier this week.
For security, the phone will have a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It will also feature an AI button and a dedicated camera shutter button.
The Magic 9 is expected to carry IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. It will measure 8.49mm in thickness and weigh 209 grams.
The leaked price for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage version is 5,999 yuan.
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max specifications
The Magic 9 Pro Max will offer a larger 6.8-inch flat LTPO display. It will have 1.5K+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
According to the leak, the Pro Max will use the Snapdragon 8EE6 chipset. It will pack an 8,800mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
The phone will also feature Honor’s 55MP square 1:1 front camera. Its rear camera system will receive a larger 1/1.28-inch sensor for the 200MP main camera.
The main camera will also support 3-degree OIS, according to the leaked specifications. A 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera will complete the rear setup.
The periscope camera is said to use a 1/1.4-inch sensor. Honor is also expected to add 3D face recognition alongside the 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Other features reportedly include an X-axis linear motor and dual 1216 speakers. The phone will also have the AI button and dedicated shutter button found on the standard model.
The Pro Max is expected to retain IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. It will measure 8.59mm thick and weigh 233 grams.
Honor Magic 9 Super Edition specifications
The Magic 9 Super Edition will take a different approach from the other two models. It will feature a 6.81-inch flat 1.5K+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone is expected to use the Snapdragon 8E5 chipset. It will also include an active cooling fan for heat management.
Its biggest feature is the battery. The Super Edition is reportedly equipped with an 11,000mAh battery, much larger than the batteries in the other two models.
Charging support will include 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The camera system will be less advanced than the setups on the Magic 9 and Magic 9 Pro Max. It is expected to have a 50MP front camera.
At the rear, the phone will reportedly use a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 3x telephoto camera.
The Super Edition will also use an optical in-display fingerprint reader. The other two models are expected to use ultrasonic fingerprint technology.
Despite having the largest battery, the Super Edition is reportedly the thinnest model. It will measure 8.1mm thick and weigh 227 grams.
Magic 9 series: key differences
The leaked specifications show a clear difference between the three models. The standard Magic 9 focuses on a smaller body with a large battery and advanced cameras.
The Pro Max adds a larger display, a bigger battery and enhanced camera hardware. It also adds 3D face recognition and higher charging speeds.
The Super Edition focuses more heavily on battery capacity. Its 11,000mAh battery is the largest among the three models, while its active cooling system is another notable feature.
