Mahindra is testing a facelifted version of the Scorpio-N in India, with the updated SUV expected to arrive in 2027. Images of a heavily camouflaged test vehicle have surfaced on social media.
The prototype appears to feature changes to the front fascia. Its design also seems to draw inspiration from the recently unveiled Scorpio Lifestyler pickup.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Facelift Spotted
The test mule has a noticeably different front-end layout compared with the current Scorpio-N. It uses temporary circular headlamps, which are common on early development vehicles.
The production version is expected to get revised LED headlamps and daytime running lights. A larger grille and redesigned bumper are also expected.
The side profile appears largely unchanged. However, the test vehicle has been spotted with a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels.
The prototype currently uses steel wheels, which are often used during vehicle testing. The production SUV is expected to receive a new alloy wheel design.
Details about the rear section remain limited. Updates to the tail-lamps and bumper could be introduced as testing progresses.
Scorpio-N Facelift Engine Options
The facelifted Scorpio-N is expected to retain its existing engine range. This includes the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines.
Both manual and automatic gearbox options are expected to continue. Four-wheel drive is also likely to remain available on selected diesel variants.
Mahindra is expected to launch the updated Scorpio-N in 2027. The company has not provided confirmed launch details in the information available here.
Scorpio Lifestyler Shows a New Direction
The Scorpio-N facelift appears alongside Mahindra’s wider expansion of the Scorpio brand. The company recently unveiled the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027.
The Lifestyler is aimed at buyers interested in lifestyle and adventure-focused vehicles. Mahindra sees the Scorpio name as a broader family of products rather than a single SUV.
Pratap Bose, Executive Vice President and Chief Design Officer at Mahindra, highlighted the strength of the Scorpio brand.
“Scorpio is one of the strongest automotive brands in the country.”
He also explained that the Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N and Scorpio Lifestyler share common brand attributes.
For Indian buyers, the upcoming facelift could give the Scorpio-N a refreshed appearance without major changes to its existing powertrain. More details are expected as Mahindra continues testing the updated SUV.
