Red Magic says its next gaming flagship will bring more power and a slimmer design.
Red Magic has confirmed the Red Magic 12 Pro+ will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The gaming phone is set to launch in October 2026. It will be one of the first phones to use the higher-end chip.
Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 recently. Red Magic confirmed the 12 Pro+ during that announcement.
Ni Fei, President of ZTE’s Terminal Business Unit and Nubia Technology, spoke about the partnership. He said the new chip should improve speed and energy use. He also said it should support faster response and steadier gaming.
Red Magic is also changing the phone’s design. The 12 Pro+ will be lighter, thinner and narrower than the previous model. It will also have more rounded edges.
Teaser images show slimmer bezels around the screen. Red Magic says the bezels will shrink from 1.25 mm to 0.96 mm. The front is also expected to use a full under-display camera. This means there will be no visible camera hole on the screen.
Jiang Chao, General Manager of Red Magic Gaming Phones, said the phone will focus on core gaming needs. These include high performance, cooling and comfort during long sessions. He also said the daily system experience has been improved.
Dual cooling remains a key focus
Full specifications have not been announced yet. Red Magic is expected to keep its dual-cooling setup. The system combines liquid cooling with active fans.
The new chip and cooling system are aimed at long gaming sessions. The design changes also show a focus on comfort. Red Magic is seeking to balance high power with easier handling.
