The Galaxy S27 Ultra could get updated image processing and improved video features.
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to launch early next year, with several camera and video changes tipped for the flagship phone. According to tipster Walle (@WalleGalaxy), Samsung is exploring new image processing algorithms for the device.
The reported changes could give photos a warmer and more natural look. This would be different from the cooler colour tones seen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The new processing may also aim to show colours and lighting in a more realistic way.
Samsung is also tipped to update the Log format and Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec. These changes are reportedly aimed at improving HDR video recording on the phone.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to keep support for 4K video at 120 frames per second. It could also continue to support 8K video recording at 30 frames per second.

The APV codec was introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is designed for detailed video production and can be enabled through Camera > Settings > Video Format > APV.
In another post on X, Walle claimed that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a 5x telephoto camera. The tipster cited an employee of a parts manufacturer for the information.
The 5x telephoto camera is said to use the same 1/2.52-inch Sony IMX854 sensor as the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This information has not been officially confirmed by Samsung.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to launch early next year with other Galaxy S27 models. These are tipped to include the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27+.
The Ultra model is rumoured to have a 6.9-inch display. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. The base configuration is tipped to include 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The phone is also expected to feature a quad-camera setup. The system could include a 200-megapixel primary camera.
Other reported specifications include a 5,800mAh battery and 25W wireless charging. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is also likely to retain an IP68-rated build.
Samsung has not officially confirmed these specifications or camera changes. More details are expected as the Galaxy S27 series launch approaches.
